Sound Cues: the Gesture Chain

The chain

CosNFX reads your wrist's motion on a Wear OS watch, matches it to calibrated gesture zones, and fires that zone's cue — sounds and visuals locally, compatible props over the network for the layers. The whole loop happens on the watch for the fastest response: the hit lands with the arm.

Calibration: teaching it your motion

  1. Pick a zone (the app ships seven editable areas).
  2. Perform the motion 3–5 times; the app profiles its shape and sets a sensitivity.
  3. Practice: the cue must fire on clean hits and stay quiet while you walk.

The latency budget

PathDelayReads as
Watch speaker<50 msThe hit — instant
Bluetooth speaker150–300 msDrama — good for ambience, late for clashes
Networked props~100–400 msGlows, fog, flashes — never the sharp hits

Speakers

Watch speakers carry mids/highs: design around transients. A tiny wearable speaker in the chest pocket changes everything for layered cues — the low hum under the watch's hit.

Cue design, briefly

Map a whole setup on the cue mapper, print the sheet, and build it in the app in an evening — that's the loop this site exists to keep moving.
